Long time ago in Japan, we used say father “Chan”, and child “Ko”. And if you put these words together, it becomes “Chanko”. Also, in Sumo wrestler’s world, master is the father and disciple is the child. So, Chanko is the dish father(master) and child(disciple) share.
What’s Chanko-Nabe? : a sumo wrestler’s dish of meat, fish and a variety of vegetable cooked together.
Chanko-Nabe is filled with many different kinds of vegetable and known as very healthy dish. |
